  1. Nice picture. The white sky makes a nice background here, and the red adds that bit of contrast to it. Great job!

  2. Thanks David. I took this picture during the middle of the day, but the sky was very dark and there was little light. The picture is definitely exposed for the bird. I suppose if I had a stronger flash, I could have used it, and kept the background dark and still have the bird properly exposed...but that may have scared the bird. I did use the on board flash to add just a bit of extra light. This really helped bring out the color of the hawthorn fruits. The catch light in this bird's eye is also from the flash.

    Thank you for the comment. The red is from the berries of a hawthorn tree. I was lucky and this bird seemed to like this tree on that day. I've been keeping and eye on that same tree, and I haven't seen it there since.
