While I was Gone, The Birds and Squirrels Feasted
While Megan and I were in Northeast Ohio then Maine over the Holiday Season, the birdcam kept watch on the feeding area in our backyard. The camera recorded an image every two minutes, and I merged these images into a nice little movie that sums up the events from December 22nd to this evening. During that time, we did come home, and I added more seed, added an additional feeder close to the window, spread sunflower seeds on the window sill (look for the cardinal closeups-they are quick though!), and finally, I adjusted the camera a bit. All in all, pretty exciting. It is amazing how many birds the camera captures. If you'd like to see the camera live, which is a live streaming video if you have relatively high speed internet, just click on the link to the right.
Happy backyard birding,
Tom

I'm a fan of the cam!
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris! I'm going to look for ways to improve the picture and get birds closer to the camera in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned......

I like the bird cam video- almost too fast to see anything! I like to see how the days passed, however, with night coming and leaving quickly!
ReplyDeleteYou should be able to get some better quality uploading to blip.tv instead of youtube and you also don't give up your copyrights to blip as you currently are at youtube! But, what are those flashes at night? Vehicles passing? Neighbors motion light? I love seeing the garage door open then close!
ReplyDeleteTom....Blip.tv looks interesting, I went to there sight. I noticed the video quality on your blog is outstanding. And as far as Youtube goes, I never even considered the copyright aspect. Thank you for the tip.
ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head with the motion light....our neighbors have several. And the garage is the neighbor's as well. Our lots are only forty feet wide here in the city, so we live fairly close together!
