My World- Columbus
I've lived in Columbus since 2003. Although technically, Megan and I live in Worthington, our home city is almost completely surrounded by the City of Columbus, so we aren't far away. Here is a shot of downtown that I took while Megan and I were on a flight to Chicago with a final destination of Bozeman, Montana, back in June of 2007.
Things to look for in this picture include:
1. The Scioto river, pronouced "sigh-O-dah"
2. The Leveque tower, our art-deco skyscraper.
3. Nationwide Arena, home to our National Hockey League franchise the Columbus Bluejackets.
What does all this have to do with nature? Well, it shows that Columbus is really a big city, but with the several stream corridors that run through the area, there are still wild places to be found. The water from the Olentangy dumps right into the Scioto just north of this picture, which looks southwest. I hope you enjoy this look at Columbus, Ohio, where Megan and I have decided to call home.

**ADDENDUM**
After looking at the full scale version of this photo, I realized that the river bank looks mighty crowded. And then I realized why. I actually captured this shot on July 3rd, 2007, the day of Columbus's Red, White, and Boom fireworks celebration. This event attracts tens of thousands of people, who camp out very early along the river. Look for their blankets and of the tents of vendors.
