Welcome to the Ohio State Fair

There's nothing really quite like the Ohio State Fair. In fact, it encompasses so many things, so many different types of people, and so many interests, it just about defies description. Yes, you have agricultural and livestock competitions and fair rides (which we really like and there will be plenty of that featured here), but there really is so much more, especially if you take the time to see out those curiosities. Megan and I did just that on Sunday evening. In the interest of brevity, I'm going to do something that I haven't done in a long time- I'll be uploading the images and presenting them as a slideshow.

AND...Megan and I will be FINALLY heading to Maine this Wednesday morning courtesy of U.S. Airways. We can't wait to get there, and you can be sure I'll have plenty to blog about from the pine tree state.

  1. Thanks for the pictures of the fair, since I wasn't able to get there AGAIN! ( Haven't been there since you were five!) Every year I say I want to go, and it doesn't seem to be the right time, so I appreciate the pictures, especially all the cows! ( for Megan!)

  3. Great shots from the fair. I have lived in Iowa my whole life and never attended our state fair. I just may have to do that soon. Thanks for sharing the images from yours.

  5. Sounds like y'all had a great time at the fair. I haven't been to a state fair since I was a kid. I remember that I really enjoyed the exhibit of those new-fangled flying machines.

Have a great time on your trip to Maine.

  6. Glad you enjoyed. Personally, having been made to work long hours at fairs (for no pay) in my youth, I think I'll pass. Not to mention having an unfortunately keen understanding of the sordid underbelly of most fair operations. Not really something for the kiddies, that! Glad you enjoyed the "front of the house," though.

  7. Nice fair photos, Tom. We are looking forward to the Great Darke County Fair.

Have been dealing with my RA in my hands. The chemotherapy drug I am taking for it doesn't get rid of the pain so it is hard to do much typing.
