Time to go to Maine Again

Oh darn, Megan and I are leaving for the in-laws' place again tomorrow. Catch a hint of sarcasm here? It is time to get the camera gear cleaned up and packed up. We're catching an early flight tomorrow to Dulles, then off to Portland Maine. A one hour drive up into the Oxford Hills, and we'll be set for a week at Little Pond. Clean-cool-air, balsam fir-scented forest, wind wisping through the pines- really a fairy land place for this midwestern botanist. I can't wait. I'll catch you on the backside of the flights.

  1. Enjoy your trip, but I have to tell you, this is one wet summer here in Maine! Yesterday was beautiful, and we needed the relief.

With all the rain, the changes of forest fires is greatly reduced, but the farmers aren't happy and who can blame them this year?

With the wood soaking wet, you'll get some great pictures!

  3. I hope the weather gets better for you while you're here in Maine. I happen to be off today but it's pouring buckets. This has been one of the worst summers weatherwise,
that I can remember. I just checked out your other photo blog and I liked your star trail photo. Keep your fingers crossed to get more pictures like that while you're here.
