Monday morning, April 21, 2008. I waited a while on the gravel bar of the Olentangy River for the clouds to position themselves just right for this photograph. There was a gentle breeze beginning to pick up after a still and calm morning. Winds from the southwest, and the fluffy cumulus clouds were moving from right to left in this image. Things are greening up so quickly here around Columbus, even though I took this photo at the beginning of the week, this scene is so much greener now. Happy Sky Watch Friday.
This is a beautiful picture. isn't it fun watching and waiting for the perfect shot?
ReplyDeleteTom: That is a nice sky over the river. Great capture.
ReplyDeleteHow I envy you with places so beautiful to visit and take gorgeous photographs. That place looks good for a slow stroll too in the evenings :)
ReplyDeleteJust right is exactly right. This is wonderful. I hope you enjoyed the wait as much as I am enjoying your photo.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like an excellent place to wade and cast a line in...or my husband would probably fly fish!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. My Mom and I were discussing my wisteria vines yesterday and today they're in full purple splendor.
Beautiful blue sky- I never get enough of it!
ReplyDeleteGood Day Tom
ReplyDeleteA great SW picture, out trees are now spring into leaf, I can see them each day...getting greener.. at themoment the tree behind my house seem to have a yellow tinge, but thats the sun catching the new leaves as they start to open.
Good waiting shot.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place, beautiful image, excellent.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful setting, it would be so relaxing to sit there and listen to stream of water while watching a beautiful calm sky
ReplyDeleteIsn't is wonderful seeing green again, instead of the brown and white from winter. Great photo.

This is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBefore I read your description I imagined a breeze as I viewed this shot. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the green coming on quickly - I noticed today as I drove around running errands that our once naked-winter trees are sporting fine new suits of green, and plum, and yellow, and just all sorts of nice new colors.
I would call that picture perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt was worth the wait, what a beautiful picture you took!!
ReplyDeleteThanks again everyone for stopping by my sky watch post. Isn't it great fun? I've been seeing possible sky watch images wherever I go!
