Olentangy

Olentangy, originally uploaded by Tom Arbour.

For today's Sky Watch post, I dug into the archives. Last June 19th, we had a spectacular late spring sunset along the Olentangy River. When we move away from our home at the end of August, I'll surely miss being able to pop down to the river and take shots like this one. Megan and I really enjoyed this scene, and we have several shots of us with this sunset as a backdrop, one of which I used for my Flickr avatar. Have a happy sky watch Friday!

  7. Great sky ... even better reflection.

Did you say moving -- as in leaving one location and ending up somewhere else?

  8. What a spectacular vista. I was taken in by the colors and then the reflection on the water. That's when I noticed how still the water was and wondered if you were eaten alive by mosquitoes while you took that very lovely picture? lol (I'm currently being used as a feeding post, so it's on my mind)

  10. I caught the moving in August part or think I did. What a shame to lose you, Tom. Surely you are not leaving the Buckeye state. Maybe just the home along the river. That would be OK. I have been in and out of the hospital and not able to keep track of all my friends. Sorry about that. I still have a round of doctors to visit up until the 12th. Then I hope I am back to normal and home.

This is a magnificent photograph and fits in Sky Watch perfectly.

  21. Everyone-

Yes, Megan and I will be moving come August time. Where? We don't know, but we'll be out of our house here in C-bus on the banks of the Olentangy at the end of August. We've been renting here come two years in August. We'll also have been married for two years! Megan is doing a job search and we'll see what happens, but our goal is to have a house of our own.

And YES, the Ohio Nature Blog will certainly continue, no matter where in Ohio we end up. (We haven't seriously extended our search outside of Ohio, but it is possible. We just have to see how things play out, it has been a roller coaster ride for sure! (Megan's job search, that is)
