Anyway, let this be a teaching moment about the non-allergenic quality of goldenrod pollen. If it were light enough to waft on the air and cause allergies, it wouldn't need all these pollinators scrabbling around in it, attracted by its vivid coloration. It's ragweed, which blooms at the same time but almost invisibly, with nondescript green flowers, that causes hay fever, but goldenrod gets the bum rap.

I guess I need to inspect the goldenrod more closely. I see the bees and wasps, but you found some other interesting critters.
