I feel helpless - it's like a lab specimen and I'm a habitat guy. I'm going with either carotus or solidago. The more I look at it, the more it looks like chaff and not a flower, so I'll give up before I start guessing monocots out of thin air.
Phoradendron serotinum....I didn't realize mistletoe was in southern Ohio until I looked it up on the internet.
Wow! It took only 35 minutes. Way to go Jennifer. Plants.usda.gov uses the Name Phoradendron leucarpum. Did anyone else thing that this could be the sticky seed of our native mistletoe, found in southern Ohio?
