We Have NO POWER!

Hurrican Ike brought 80 mile per hour wind gusts to Ohio and beyond, and Megan and I have been without power since Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. We here rumors that electric service will be restored by Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m., but other sources are telling us that the lights may not come back on until the weekend.

Fortunately, my camera batteries were fully charged and I've been taking pictures. We had a large limb fall in the backyard, but it missed the house by feet. In the front yard, we had a limb side swipe the garage, and we only have a dent in the gutter. We were lucky.

  1. I'm really glad you had no real damage. We had the high winds, too and escaped without damage. This is a good test for your new house :-) Should make you feel secure in your choice. We were just in Springfield last Saturday and I know our family there are without power, too. And with all that we got no rain....which we need! Hope your power returns soon.

  4. Tom: What a strong wind we had come through Ohio. I read where 2 million people lost their power. We had 680,000 people who lost their power. Most are back on.

  5. Wasn't that storm something? That Ike, even downgraded to a Tropical Depression, sure packed a wallop! Power's back on here in CleveLand, but lots of folks out east are still without. The "lovely" sound of chain saws was all I heard yesterday as the clean-up continues. Can't wait to see your pics.
