Delaware Wildlife Area Birds

Turkey Vulture

This is the ROAD to a boat launch, completely flooded!

Redheads

Canvasbacks

Red-winged Blackbird

Pintail

Ring-neck ducks

The flooded Delaware Wildlife area is teeming with waterfowl and other birds right now- it's an amazing place to be.  Yesterday I was able to photograph Canvasbacks for the first time, one of my favorite ducks.

  1. Awesome shots!! I recently went to Pikerington Ponds and saw many of the same waterfowl.

  2. M- Thank you. It's been a while since I've been to Pick Ponds. I mean a real long while, when I was single. Now I'm married and have two kids- I need to get back and check out all the wetland restoration that Columbus Metroparks has done there.

  3. These pics are wonderful! I love the flying ducks, especially the pintail, never heard of that one! Also the close -ups of the ring necked, ones, they look like they are posing for you! What an awesome sight, all in one place!

  4. What a nice series of photos!

I was just looking at a map of the Delaware Wildlife Area on the web. It's such a big place. To do some bird watching there, can you recommend a good location to start?
